Knit With Purpose

Updated: Jul 24, 2023

One of the most profound things to me is that the Creator of all things would be mindful of us. It is not simply the fact that He knows we exist that brings comfort, all though that at times is quite a hefty encouragement, moreover, it is the fact that He thought to design us and did so on purpose. A lot of how we operate as people causes an over generalization of individuals. This causes a loss of identity as more and more individuals go with the flow and attempt to fit in with the culture around them. This "when in Rome" philosophy has caused damage to the fabric of our understanding. Questions about identity and purpose are on the rise and it is a direct result of the mentality passed through generations that it is better to fit in than to stand out.

My desire is to free you from this thought pattern by opening you to the truth of who you are. It is of utmost importance for you to embrace this truth. You were created on purpose, with purpose. Let me say that again, I prefer repetition over the risk of you missing the weight of that sentence for the mere catchy simplicity of the phrase. You, all of you, the day you were born, the curve of your nose, the sound of your laugh, and the dreams inside of you. You were created on purpose, not by happen stance or accident, on purpose. Do you realize what that means? That means that who you are and what you will become is part of plan A, you are the plan. Furthermore, you were created with purpose. To be created with purpose means that there is a plan for your future and a unique set of skills within you designed for a necessary contribution to the Kingdom of God.

Let's stop over generalizing ourselves by attempting to reconstruct the original masterpiece you are. Rather, start asking the questions about who you are and why you are. Ask the One who formed you and designed you to begin with. You may be surprised just how much treasure really is inside of you. Here are some scriptures to get you started: Jeremiah 1:5, Galatians 1:15, Psalm 139:13-18. Don't stop here! There is an abundance of scripture on the topic of you and His great love for you.
